Physical Therapy
At Momentum Physical Therapy of New Paltz, you can expect a one-of-a-kind experience. With health care and physical therapy becoming more impersonal and corporate, Dr. Greg Cecere takes a page from Hippocrates and believes that "It is far more important to know what sort of person has a disease than to know what sort of disease a person has." Being able to provide a on-on-one environment with no distractions of other clients, different staff, phone calls, etc. allows Greg to provide the truly personalized care that every person deserves. It helps create the opportunity to build a trusting relationship and partnership with each client which is so important to guide decision making for something so fundamental: your health.

Direct Access
In the state of New York, physical therapists are considered 'Direct Access' providers. What does this mean exactly? In short it means that no prescription or referral is needed to seek care from a physical therapist first! Rather than physical therapy being contingent upon the prescription or referral from a physician, dentist, podiatrist or nurse practitioner, Direct Access recognizes the professional training and expertise of the physical therapist in addressing pain, musculoskeletal dysfunction and functional limitations. Should you feel that you would benefit from physical therapy you do not have to spend the extra time and money to go to your physician and possibly a specialist beforehand. At this time, however, this is limited to 30 calendar days or 10 treatment sessions with the physical therapist. If treatment is still necessary after either of those scenarios, then you are required to obtain a prescription or referral to continue. The advantage to this policy is that many issues can be addressed in less than a month with a comprehensive plan of care including education, manual techniques, movement retraining and precise exercise prescription as well as a customized home exercise program and self treatment strategies.
